Well completion

Well completion refers to the process of preparing a drilled well for production (or injection). This phase involves installing the production tubing, downhole jewelry (safety valves, packers), and the surface wellhead/tree, as well as establishing the connection with the reservoir (perforating, sand control/screens).

Completion design is driven by reservoir characteristics and lifecycle requirements. Options range from simple 'open hole' completions to complex 'intelligent completions' with downhole sensors and flow control valves. The goal is to maximize flow rate and recovery while ensuring safety and mechanical integrity over the well's life.
