Tubing anchor

A tubing anchor catcher (TAC) is a device run on the tubing string in rod-pumped wells. It anchors the tubing to the casing wall to prevent it from moving up and down (breathing) with the stroke of the pump.

Prevents tubing wear against the casing and increases pump efficiency by ensuring the full stroke length is transferred to the pump. In the event the tubing parts, the 'catcher' function prevents the string from falling to the bottom.
