Solids control unit

The solids control system is the collection of equipment (shakers, desanders, desilters, centrifuges) designed to remove drilled solids from the mud. Drilled solids are detrimental; they increase viscosity, cause abrasion to pumps and bits, and reduce Rate of Penetration (ROP).

An efficient solids control system reduces the need to dilute the mud with fresh fluid (saving money and waste) and maintains the mud properties required for fast, safe drilling.
