Plunger lift

Plunger lift is a cost-effective method of artificial lift used primarily in gas wells that produce liquids. It utilizes a free-traveling piston (plunger) that cycles up and down the tubing. As the well builds pressure shut-in, it pushes the plunger and the column of liquid above it to the surface.

This method relies on the well's own energy (gas expansion) rather than external power. It is an excellent solution for 'deliquifying' gas wells to prevent them from logging off (dying due to hydrostatic weight of water).
