Mud pH meter
Drilling Fluids & Logging
The pH meter measures the acidity or alkalinity of the drilling fluid. Most water-based muds are kept alkaline (pH 9-10.5) to control corrosion and activate polymer additives.
A drop in pH can indicate contamination (e.g., from acid gas influx like CO2 or H2S) or bacterial degradation of the mud polymers.
