Kelly hose

A kelly hose (rotary hose) is a high-pressure, flexible steel-reinforced rubber hose connecting the standpipe to the swivel or top drive. It allows the vertical movement of the traveling block while maintaining a high-pressure fluid connection for pumping mud.

These hoses act as the critical link between the fixed surface piping and the moving drillstring. They are rated for high pressures (5,000 to 7,500 psi) and must withstand constant pulsations from the mud pumps and mechanical bending cycles.
