Hydration unit

A hydration unit (pre-gel blender) is a truck-mounted system designed to hydrate the guar gum or polymer powder used in the frac fluid before it reaches the main blender.

Proper residence time in the hydration unit prevents 'fish-eyes' (unmixed clumps) and ensures the gel develops its full viscosity to transport proppant. It feeds the fully hydrated gel to the blender.
