H2S monitor

An H2S monitor is a personal safety device worn by workers to detect the presence of Hydrogen Sulfide gas, a deadly, colorless, and corrosive hazard common in oil and gas operations ('sour gas'). The monitor provides an audible and visual alarm when concentration levels exceed safety thresholds (typically 10 ppm).

Because H2S deadens the sense of smell at higher concentrations, workers cannot rely on their nose to detect it. These monitors are mandatory on sour sites and must be bump-tested daily to ensure sensors are functioning correctly.
