Gas detector

See **H2S Monitor**. While personal monitors are worn by individuals, fixed gas detection systems are permanently installed sensors located around the rig or facility (e.g., at the shakers, bell nipple, or accommodations).

They monitor for Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) of combustible gases and toxic gases (H2S, CO). Upon detection, they trigger visual and audible alarms and may initiate automatic shutdown sequence (ESD).
