Frac fluid
Stimulation & Fracturing
The carrier fluid used in hydraulic fracturing. It typically consists of 99% water and sand, with 1% chemical additives.
Fluid systems include 'Slickwater' (low viscosity, high velocity) for shales, and 'Crosslinked Gel' (high viscosity) for carrying high concentrations of proppant in conventional reservoirs.
