Downhole memory tool

Memory tools record logging data to an internal hard drive or chip rather than transmitting it to the surface in real-time. They are used in slickline operations or on drill pipe (LWD) where telemetry is not possible or needed.

The data is downloaded and processed once the tool is retrieved at surface. While not real-time, memory data is often higher resolution.
