Desander

A desander is a hydrocyclone device installed on the production facility to remove sand and solids from the produced fluid stream. Fluid enters tangentially, creating a vortex that throws heavy solids to the wall and down to the underflow, while clean fluid exits the top.

Removing produced sand protects downstream pumps, separators, and valves from erosion and prevents vessels from filling up with silt.
