Deadline anchor

The deadline anchor is the fixed point on the rig floor where the 'dead' end of the drill line is secured. It does not move during hoisting operations. It contains a weight sensor (load cell) that measures the tension in the line.

This tension measurement is converted into the 'Hook Load' and 'Weight on Bit' readings displayed on the driller's console, making it a critical sensor for drilling parameters.
