Coil-assisted frac tool

A coil-assisted frac tool is an assembly run on the end of coiled tubing used for 'pinpoint stimulation.' It typically includes a packer and a blast joint.

By setting the packer, the operator can isolate a specific interval and pump acid or frac fluid down the coil or annulus. This is often used for re-stimulating older wells or treating specific bypass zones that were missed in the original completion.
