Christmas tree

A Christmas tree is the assembly of valves, spools, and fittings located on top of the wellhead to control the flow of oil and gas from the well. It is the primary interface for production operations, allowing operators to open/close the well, control flow rates via a choke, and inject chemicals.

The tree provides access for wireline or coiled tubing intervention through its vertical bore (swab valve). It includes a master valve (the ultimate shut-off), a wing valve (for flow to the pipeline), and pressure gauges to monitor tubing and annulus pressures.
