Chemical injection pump

A chemical injection pump is a small, positive displacement metering pump used to inject precise amounts of chemicals into the flowline or wellhead. Common chemicals include corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, paraffin solvents, and demulsifiers.

These pumps can be solar, electric, or pneumatic (gas) powered. Continuous injection is vital for 'flow assurance'—preventing the pipes from plugging up or corroding away.
